Warriors Girls Hockey Program
The Future of Hampton Roads Girls Hockey Starts Here
We are proud to officially launch the Hampton Roads Warriors Girls Hockey Program, beginning with our inaugural 16U Girls Travel Team for the upcoming season. Players born in 2013–2010 are eligible for this team.
This is not a concept or interest list—this team is happening.
Why Now?
For over a decade, female players in our area have had to travel to Raleigh, NC and Pennsylvania to find opportunities to play on all-girls teams.
That is no longer necessary.
The Hampton Roads area now has enough high-level, competitive female players to support a program right here at home—one that will rival established girls programs in the region.
Building Something That Lasts
Our goal is to create a structured, sustainable girls hockey pathway:
- 16U Girls Travel Team (Inaugural Season – Confirmed)
- 14U Girls Travel Team (Next Phase)
- 12U & 10U Girls Tournament Teams (Development & Growth)
We are building this the right way—starting with a strong foundation at the older levels while developing the next generation of players.
Why Girls Teams Matter
Hockey is for everyone. And co-ed hockey plays an important role in development.
However, as players reach 14U and older, the game changes:
- Physical differences become more noticeable
- Ice time and role opportunities can become limited
- Development pathways begin to diverge
An all-girls team provides:
- Equal opportunity
- Increased puck touches and game involvement
- A competitive, supportive environment
- A clear path for continued development
Our Commitment
This program is built on one simple belief:
Girls in our area deserve a place to play, compete, and grow—without leaving home.
We are committed to:
- High-level coaching
- Competitive scheduling
- A team environment that challenges and develops players
